I always find it interesting tuning into the energy and effects of Mercury and the moon. Of course not being an astrologer I only know the basics about the planetary bodies that seem to have great influence on our emotions and behavior. The moon is a monthly phenomenon that has taught me so much about the subtle and sometimes powerful pulls exerted by our closest neighbor. In my observation over the years the more sensitive I have become to energies the more these two neighboring spheres have influenced my awareness. As much as they can seem like inanimate objects they appear to exert more and more consciousness to me as time goes by. I generally start to feel the effects of the full moon 5-7 days before it goes full, and the same thing w/ a mercury retrograde. It’s like, by paying attention to their force both of these bodies work with me to show me the effects they will be putting on human consciousness each time they intensify their expression, and it would seem they show me this early because of my commitment to help others. Now, I could also look at it like, as I become more aware and sensitive I am able to tune into the subtle energies of the moon and mercury and leave it at that. Either vantage point works, nevertheless I am leaning toward these objects having a consciousness and awareness to them the same way I feel about the sun. I’m not saying they are alive in the same way as we human’s - maybe they are more advanced! At some point I will take the time to write about the consciousness I feel from these heavenly bodies, our solar system, galaxy, etc. Maybe they are the fine-tuners helping us in our evolution, even though little real attention is given to the world of astrology and it’s influence on the planet earth’s inhabitants. I write about this now because I have been feeling the pulls of Mercury for the last week in the strongest of ways. Since I have returned from NM my body has been aching and I have felt energetic pulls in specific places in my body that I recognize from years of paying attention to Mercury. Even more importantly I have watched the emotions of people and it seems like most are walking on eggshells trying to just keep it together. I’m glad Mercury and the moon are not hitting at the same time! Lord, that would be a duesy.
As my astrologer friend, Marga Laube writes, “with the creative forecast for this week. Good ole trickster Mercury is turning retrograde this Friday, generally intensifying communications with others. Make it a point to choose your words carefully this weekend, placing kindness as a top priority in whatever you feel you need to communicate.
The revolutionary lineup of planets right now is about to get very personal. For those of us who have been committed to the healing work for awhile, this will likely feel like a nudge to clean up our energy in areas where self-love is still in a holding pattern. For others we work with who are newer to the work, this level of “push” can be really intense. Skillfulness and compassion come in handy in working with people around health issues, finances, getting clear in their relationships, during this time.
As you all probably know, Mercury retrograde is not a great time to sign contracts, make big agreements, or embark on important ventures. It is a great time for editing (dear writers) refining, culling material, organizing, etc. Mercury, the planet of speech and thought, likes reviewing things during Mercury retrograde - rather than initiating. Mercury retrograde ends Sept. 12.”
Well said…pay attention to yourself during these next 3 weeks, a lot of good things can happen if you are awake and aware. Onward. LOVE, David
I write about the next Global Healing Group to extend an invitation for you to join in. As I keep surveying, studying and traveling I see that people are still stuck in their family dynamics, many so stuck that they “seem” light years away from self-love. They feel that way inside themselves and they are still holding their families responsible for their pain. And many hold their current families (roommates, friends, partners) hostage for these old scars. I know it is worth one more pass to the past to give spirit a chance to help mend these old markers around love. It is time to be liberated around love and all family relations! It is time to embrace the illusion that “love is not safe” and love it to safety. It is time to clear the vision about all the lessons we have learned from family and set the lessons and our families free - in LOVE! They have been our most amazing karmic teachers! We have a responsibility to change the conversation about family and self-love. So, here we are at the Global Healing Group # 6, Sunday @ 10am, PST. Join us if you feel the call! Love, David
When you make the connection of this progression you will not feel victimized by a lack of money again.
The more you open your heart with gratitude for every moment of existence and the more you celebrate this existence with creativity the more you will allow energy from the Universe to flow into you. The Universe can express this flow of energy through you in many forms: health, well-being, vitality, peace, balance, abundance and yes, even a positive, healthy flow of money.
If you feel energetically stuck around money, take a moment to sense beyond dollars or euros or the number in your bank account and ask yourself where you might be holding onto a belief of ‘lack’ within you. Breathe into it. Open your heart to the healing energy of self-love and connect to your value and worth. A statement I make quite often in sessions and groups is ‘You’re worth it.’ Can you connect to your heart right now and in the opening of that powerful energy center feel your worth in this moment? Can you allow money to be an expression of this innate sense of value through self-love? Let money be an outward expression of what is already felt and known within and let it support you and your work on this planet. It can begin today. Connect to the spiritual energy behind money and let spirit flow. This is where faith takes root and the UEF that flows into you will be exchanged into self-love and the self-love that flows out will be exchanged into UEF creating a continuous circle of life in which money easily and effortlessly plays its role as a source of energy and opportunity to do the work you are here to do.
Open your heart to self-love and become Universal as you exchange energy with all things in the Universe. Money is a byproduct resulting from this willingness to open up to the endless resource of Universe and spirit and allows you to fully play the game of life. The more you entrust the Universe to support you the more it will.
This topic will lead us into the next group, August 15 on:
Now that I am in FL and heading to NYC I am remembering what it is like to live in a place with lot’s of humidity. Whew!! I’ve definitely gotten used to the dryer, much more arid, Western U.S. It’s good to experience the heat and humidity again, but I wouldn’t want to live here…no offense.
More and more it has become apparent about the importance of well placed interviews and communication about the creative work I do. It’s not about advertising, it’s about getting the word out so people can choose whether they want to engage with the creation, or not. It’s a double-edged sword really. Can people buy my book, or even download it for free, if they don’t know about it? Until recently I thought if I wrote it they will come and to some degree this is true. My first book, The Reluctant Healer is still alive moving into foreign countries as I write, and I expect Healing to have a life of it’s own as well. However, I am learning the importance of promotion and publicity - not from how much money I can make, that’s rarely the case with books or music for that matter - but how can I serve the Universe’s message that came through me. As I am understanding this more and more I am beginning to have much more fun with the process, and the energy that is flowing through me is growing stronger with each interview. It’s not about me, it is about the energy flow! Anyway…if you didn’t get a chance to listen to the interview with Lisa Garr of The Aware Show in Los Angeles, we will try to post it soon. In the meantime it should be posted on KPFK’s website as a pod cast 7-21-10, 1:30pm. http://archive.kpfk.org/parchive/
Neutrality is a fascinating stance I try to teach people all of the time. One of the first remarks many come up with is if you are neutral does that mean you don’t care? If I can’t get a rise out of you, I guess that means you don’t care. I say, “It’s actually the opposite. The more neutral I stay the more I am able to keep a clear boundary between us, thus allowing me to stay in a more clear and loving place with you and myself. Neutrality is a spiritual state of being, it takes awareness of one’s own energy and the choice of what to do with it in the areas where you would be most invested. Hence, with those closest to you, let’s face it these are the areas where it is hardest to remain neutral. These are the areas where the people closest to you and often the most like you will test the boundaries of neutrality. Why is this you may say? There are a lot of false age-old beliefs that love means I should carry at least some of your pain – if I love you. Through your compassion and caring you should allow someone close to dump their upset and negativity in your lap, and those that operate this way will be very demanding about their needs. I write about this again because I believe as people are studying self-love more they are starting to understand what love really is. Love is not a conditional drama-laden endeavor. It is not your karma to carry your loved one’s pain.
Neutrality is the demonstration of the choice to stay conscious in the eye of conflict with anyone and especially with those closest to you. You have to be willing to say, “No” as an expression of your compassion and love. If, you say, “Yes” to suffice another person’s demand on your energy and emotions you will become indifferent and shut down over time. You will stop loving yourself and other person when you block yourself from their assaults. Whereas, learning to say “no” and remain as neutral and loving as possible will ultimately set you free from your genetic imprint around love and the karma of illusion about what love really is. Trust the power of love from a place of self-love, which always appears to be a very neutral state when viewed from across the room. LOVE, David
Wow, what a great time I’ve had in Seattle! I’ve missed the people, East West Bookshop and the city.
Old friends, new friends - I’m back! Getting ready for some grilled salmon, courtesy of my great friends Tara and Marty! Yum!!
I really look forward to going to the Olympic rain forest on Monday and heading down to Breitenbush hot springs for the evening, then on down to Ashland, OR for a healing group on Weds night. Soaking up the Pacific Northwest and the sunshine…stay tuned. Love, David
It is so easy for me to follow basketball. I’ve lived it, I’ve loved it and I’m still very interested in it. I have to say basketball has provided me some of my greatest spiritual experiences - back in the day. It’s not how it used to be and I don’t play anymore. Nevertheless, it’s quite a stretch for me to fain interest in soccer. I know the world is tuned into the World Cup, it is amazing to me the passion for soccer. So, I have given it my best. I have tried to study the game during the cup, it’s not happening. I know I am conditioned toward American sports (I reckon the mainstream sports!). Anyway…I saw something in the last Fifa game, I grew some appreciation for the way Spain controlled the ball against Germany. I started to see the game a little differently…but…let’s just say, maybe the key is to watch the game with the sound off. Those horns?!
And then there’s LeBron and the whole NBA free agent business. It’s been quite the spectacle. Kind of ridiculous, but will prove to test the Lakers and Phil Jackson next season. Some may argue that sports and spirit do not mix. I like the variety, entertainment and contradiction of it all. Sports are wonderful teachers of discipline, physical development, emotional and energetic cleansing, as well as mental acuity and focus…anyway, I like sports and encourage my daughter to play them.
I have been hearing the term (mainstream) more and more lately with references to me, my books, the healing work, and spiritual work in general - and actually the comment has been,”You are not mainstream enough!” Do I take this as a compliment? For the most part I not only take it as a compliment, I take it as a choice. I have moved outside the accepted current of thought and opinion most of my life. Not to be different, but to look deeper into why things are the way they are. If the mainstream thought is working I willing accept it where it works, in the areas it is lacking I search deeper. Anyway, the reason I write about this is I realize that some part of me assumes my point of view about healing and consciousness are mainstream. I don’t see how and why the masses would want to think differently. It’s a bit strange. Do I actually want the majority to join me? Or had I rather be on the outskirts? Does it bother me to think that being on the fringe would seem cult-ish or weird to those who apparently need to judge? Truth be told, I am not worried about being different. The enigma lies in the place of the judgment of “not being mainstream enough.” It hits me in a strange enough place for me to think about it a fair amount.
So, I research more about mainstream and I find in Wikipedia: In the United States, mainline churches are sometimes referred to synonymously as “mainstream” Hum…well, I know I’m not trying to emulate a church. To me my work is not about trying to segregate out of the mainstream as much as it’s about trying to help people become more conscious and aware of their behavior, habits, choices and responsibilities. I work hard to teach people about themselves as individuals and how this affects the whole, as opposed to how being a part of the whole affects the individual.
The Universe is asking me to look deeper into this concept and I am doing just that. Not to seek something outside of myself, but rather to explore the consciousness of love inside of myself. I can only continue doing what I do because it resonates to me as truth. My commitment to healing stems from the observance of the power of love and everything that radiates from this choice. Just because I am not speaking from a specific religious or scientific position does not exclude the universality, application or effectiveness of the message. It is fine for me to not be looked at as mainstream and it is fine for me to be judged as different from the majority point of view. As I write I realize that in my own neutrality I make active choices not to judge but to accept. I make choices to understand with compassion and love as opposed to resignation and defeat. I have always been willing to lead and create new streams of consciousness and thought and I will continue to explore the edges of the current to find a more effective path. It is fine to flow outside the mainstream and it is fine to be excluded from the safety of the pack. This has always been my way and even though I have been called the “lone wolf” more than a few times in my life, I often see myself as a daddy hummingbird. Onward…love, David
