New Year’s is always an interesting dance with Mother Nature in the mountains of New Mexico. I have been working the last several days dealing with the driveway and all the walk ways on my property keeping them clear of snow for the upcoming retreat. The weather was supposed to clear off yesterday and hold beautifully until the end of the weekend - of course that depends on which weather report you listen to and which hour you heard it. Anyway…a front moved through yesterday afternoon and it started dropping snow and I began to be tested in my own way by Mother Nature, notice I say in my own way. I don’t think Mother Nature is really noticing my fluctuation of mood based on her expression! Rather I am out shoveling several times in the afternoon and into the evening. A few times I found myself getting mad at Mother Nature and I had to reign back my emotions. The truth be known we always need every drop of moisture we can muster out west. I was conflicted trying to rejoice in the beauty of the snow with the increased difficulty dealing with people, cars and snow…I have been working through the night on letting go and enjoying the “slide!” My driveway is a mess but at least I have a tractor and several able bodied folks here to help me shovel it and all the paths off. I don’t have to do it all myself! Mother Nature has a plan (that’s not hinging on me and my retreat) and I just have to let go and expect the best! That is what I am doing as I am visioning into the day, opening my heart to the unrelenting beauty and power of the Divine. Remembering the beautiful gray fox that was in my yard the day before. Trusting that everyone will make it here safe and sound and that the snow will add its own beauty and charm to the experience. And who knows…maybe even throw a snowball or two…pictures to follow. Well, the baby has birthed. I am holding the finished book. Beautiful timing! This is the final approval copy…the load of books will be headed to LA in the next day or two. They should be in a truck heading west on New Years. Needless to say I am very excited! Love, David

I am a firm believer in this old saying and I say it slightly louder this time of the year. Or, don’t put off next year what you can do this one. Now this isn’t so much a New Year’s resolution comment as it is one about a perpetual spring cleaning. If you got something you need to deal with do it now. That is always the advice I give those with lot’s of dangling, dirty, dusty, cluttered lives, and this is the best time of the year to clean it up.

So, I am sitting here thinking about the next couple of days, most of which I will be prepping for the retreat. Nevertheless, I have a little extra time to handle a couple of things at my place in NM. My list is growing as I think of a few projects I would like to handle. They are very minor in the grand scheme of things.

Do you have anything to clean up before we start this new year? 2010 deserves the best of you. If you need to clean the closet, under the bed, start your taxes, pay bills, repair an old relationship, or simply make a decision - do it. This will give you surprising momentum going into the new year - and even better try carrying it with you throughout the year.

1. Healing is being printed today and once I proof the copy it will be bound and shipped to Los Angeles. I am very excited to hold the finished book! We are expecting delivery on January 4th, 2010.

2. The same day the hard copy of Healing arrives and becomes available the audio/Mp3 will be ready for download. I am beyond excited about the timing of this!

3. The Reluctant Healer audio/Mp3 became available yesterday to be downloaded on the web site under PRODUCTS/BOOKS. Those who have listened to it have commented that it is a whole new experience compared to reading the book.

4. The Spiritual Practice CD translated into Spanish arrived yesterday and it will also be ready for download as an Mp3 in the next few days.

5. We are mid-process of creating a new website for Healing. Do I need to say how excited I am about this new site? It will be up and functioning soon.

So, my stocking feels full from Santa wonderland. All of these projects are being created with love and intention and I am really looking forward to sharing them with you. And there is even one more bigger surprise that I will be revealing in a few days, stay tuned. Love, David

I know the Universe is prepping me for the year ahead as I go forth sowing seeds about self-love. It’s not like I just started doing research on this topic, I have been studying this for years. I am a believer that everyone walking the planet can make the choice within to love themselves. I talk about this in a matter of fact way, but then I am mostly met with glazed over unfocused eyes. I have to say it excites me when a person looks at me and says, “How? How do I have self-love? How do I love myself?” As I keep answering…you have to like yourself first, treat yourself with respect, have gratitude for your life and all of those around you, and most of all have a good feeling inside your heart. There are more and more interesting questions and observations coming in. The seeds are germinating, the crop is growing.

I encourage those struggling the most with this subject because they will be the teachers of it one day. The struggle and frustration is an indication one is really looking, not happy with what has been. Digging deep for a true connection to love. It is such a metaphor of life. We as humans run around looking, searching, desperately seeking the wealth, the knowledge, spirit, the light and it is right here inside of each and everyone of us. Stop, slow down, connect to the en-light-with-in-ment, connect to the love of the Universe, self-love. Turn yourself on with this light and remember the starlight that your are. It is the love we all are waiting for. I am certain about this. Once this connection is made all other relations will be set free. Love can flow freely in, through and around you. And who doesn’t want to be free, free, free at last!

So, truthfully I am fine meeting glazed eyes and understanding that these eyes are the mirrors to the soul that’s waiting to flow through these hearts. I will continue to speak to these areas of confusion and blur and do my part to help each find their way to Healing - inside their heart with self-love. Love, David

Many may stamp their feet at the comment, “self-love determines your finances.” Of course, if you have been connected to my communications you would know that I speak about exchange more than I do finances. I am more interested in self-love and the choice to exchange this energy than how much money someone has in their bank account. Nevertheless the conversation on the table for many is the status of their finances. How much debt do they have in relation to their ability to make the minimum payments? What are the options to get out from under the cloud of debt, which is like a ball and chain from the past? Past unconscious spending patterns? Many are trying to get out from these earlier manifestations of no self-love. OK, these are broad strokes but stay with me.

Do you have imbalance in your financial experience? Does it drain and frustrate you to look at your financial picture? How are you feeling right now as I ask you these questions? Take your time with this it’s a short post, give yourself a moment to check in. How do you feel?

I gently repeat, “Your financial situation is a function of where you are with self-love.” Your financial picture is symptomatic of how you love yourself, or not. Yes, you and I both know people who seem totally unconscious and have no desire for spirit in their lives, and I say, “They have different karma than you do.” Yes, there have been a lot of unplanned occurrences in people’s lives that have affected their financial reality. I still gently hold that the experience you are having was set in motion long ago, many got swept into the apparent shortcuts with money in recent times. Credit cards, easy loans and mortgages set many up for the position they are in now, but who’s to blame. Can you really blame someone else for your financial situation? If there is blame, shame and guilt in you what does this do to self-love?

If you are in the financial wave moving across the planet, then you are in a massive consciousness shift that I believe has to do with the awakening to the power of self-love and exchange, not finance. Finance is just the means to the end for these lessons. The credit-financial-mortgage-money reality is a black hole that is creating new Universes for many. If you are in this picture anchor down to the earth, ask her to help you grow roots. Move your awareness to the light, spiral out of the black hole of no self-love by learning how to love yourself. Love is one of our greatest capacities as human beings. It is always easier to feel love for another and I can attest that I have great love for my daughter, Ruby! Nevertheless, I say it here, I cannot love her if I do not love myself. If I am in a negative experience within myself, then at best, I would be in a distraction with her or anyone else.

I write about this today and I have written extensively about this in HEALING to get you to examine your ideas and understanding of love.

Can you truly love another without loving yourself?

If this question bothers you, I consider it a good thing, and I encourage you to keep working with this concept. Keep exploring the ways to love yourself more and all the people, places and things you love will be more loved. Self-love is the foundation and key to love everywhere. Love, David

I love the rain. The trees, plants and Mother Earth love the rain. If I had to commute I might be resisting it a little, but no matter, the rain we are receiving in LA is a blessing. We need every drop we can get and as much as I love sunshine I am embracing this moisture. Metaphorically, as I am preparing for the early January book launch of Healing, I am getting my garden ready - cleaning, clearing, dusting, shining and tying up loose ends. Or in gardening terms I am tilling, planting, weeding, and nourishing the soil and plants. The rain is doing the watering. It’s an organic process. I am paying close attention to the elements to refresh my awareness to the energy from the Universe. I am really looking forward to this Winter’s Solstice too - more than usual. Hum!! Interesting times - time to play, plant, grow and be humble. Onward…Love, David

In the healing work I am continually helping people get clear about their past - healing it and letting it go. I have made comments to some that living in the past becomes a boring endeavor if one refuses to move forward. Being stuck in the past will eventually cause a person to grow old and wither away…whereas, I write a lot about the present moment as being the place of power to live in and I know this will continue to be so. But today I am thinking more about the future, which brings its own bag of charms to the human experience. It is wise to be aware of the future, it really helps to have intuition about it, and it can be a challenge living in there if you are not grounded and trust what it’s bringing you. I enjoy living in the moment, clarity prevails here, but then there’s the “magical mystery ride” of the future. I am fascinated with the future, not distracted or afraid of it. I work with the future like planting a garden. I reap what I sow in every regard and I deal with what’s to come this way. We are in times of vast and fast change. Thoughts are manifesting as realities instantly - especially when they are blended with the right mixture of intent, spirit, love and exchange. This is a magical age for those choosing to use their light in the positive ways, likewise there is equal opportunity for those not choosing to work with light. My interest, choice, and life is in the light. I choose the light to illuminate the path of my future. I choose the light to grow my garden and I use the light to interact with the magic of creation.

I do the spiritual assessment of my garden this time of the year. I take a glance back to this years occurrences (not too far into the past) - what do I want to grow differently next year? I check in to see how I am presently doing - physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. How do I want to augment the mixture of these levels for a different experience next year? How do I use my intention and my connection to spirit to love and exchange with the Universe? In return how do I want the Universe to guide me with what it is creating? How much communication am I willing to put forth on behalf of the Universe? How bright of a light am I willing to be helping others to see? How much faith do I have about this garden growing? How many will it feed? Will the baskets be full for all of those hungry for a meal?

I think about the future…I hold space for the future, for you, for me, for all to see. I like what I see. I do not feel pressured by the Universe to have to do too much. I am comfortable in my relationship and understanding of how the Universe loves and exchanges back to me. I do not consider it a perfect relationship. It has lessons, teachings and many humblings in it. Nevertheless, it is the best relationship in my life. (Whatever “best” means?) Maybe I should say it is the most significant relationship in my life. It has my attention and it gives me the most pure love and nurturing of any relationship I have ever witnessed. Through this experience the Universe has taught me about self-love. To the degree I am willing to love the Universe through myself is exactly the degree I am able to understand the creations that flow through me. To the degree I understand the energy of love that flows through my heart is exactly the degree I have relationship externally with the garden that I grow. It is exactly the degree I can have expectations for plants, animals, and people to grow. OK, maybe not people…that’s a tough row to hoe. However, the degree that I am willing to love and let that energy flow through my heart out into the Universe I see plants flourish, I watch animals relax and come closer, and I do experience people get better. With humans it is a free-will zone and it can be a more complicated experiment. With nature, love is the vibration it craves. It is the organic food source.

(a little diddy about love) There is no love without self-love, meaning you can’t love anything without loving yourself. Some people seem to think they can love another while having animosity towards themselves - can’t happen! Love is a pure flow of energy through the heart, it connects you to all things. But like Monopoly, you cannot pass goal without loving yourself. You cannot experience what love with another truly is until you love yourself. No matter how many times I say this same thing - the Universe is adamant about me holding this light on bright! - I have to keep repeating it.

So, as I gander into the future and think about the flavors of life I want to grow, nurture and harvest - I let love flow. I send it to the earth and the elements. I send it to all of Mother Nature and the Universal Energy Flow. I connect to the soil in my yard in LA and in my garden and greenhouse in NM. I run my hands deep into her richness. I sprinkle in the seeds of my intentions, and I ask my spirit to appropriate an enticing mixture of teaching and lessons from the Universe (and humblings if needed). I bring refined balance to the self-love flowing through my heart as I consciously exchange with the Universe in this mixing, planting and watering process. I include some fire from the spirit as an electrical pulse moves through my heart and hands, and I release it all up to the wind as a breeze flows across my face. When I work with the future I feel safe, supported and nourished because because Mother Earth has shown me she will take care of me.

It’s a good time to assess your garden. What are you growing? What do you want to grow next year, and beyond…As I mentioned to a friend this morning, as a double Capricorn this a natural time for me to do this kind of work. I hope it provides some fodder for your experience too. Love, David

I am very excited this morning to be visiting Paul DuGre to record HEALING. I am prepared for a couple of intense long days of speaking into the mike - and if you know Paul and myself - you know we will be playing around a lot as we are recording! It’s all good.
